Yeah, some discussion of audio recording platforms like Pro-Tools, Logic, Cu-Bass etc. plus recording techniques that apply to bass would be valuable.

Default Software modelling

+1 for recording stuff

Don't forget the bass amp modelling stuff such as

Line 6 Gearbox, Pod Farm
NI Guitar Rig
Amplitube Ampeg
Mark Bass
etc.

I nearly always practice with my Line 6 Gearbox UX2 and bass amp models - along with laptop with backing tracks, iTunes, Guitar Pro etc.

Yeah, the Mark Studio bass pug-in is superb for a dI-ed bass. Expensive yet a quality amp model.

What about a comparison review of the worlds most boutique basses such as Fodera, Jenz Ritta, Pedulla etc. It would be very interesting to see which bass was reviewed as the best available regardless of price. Oh hell, in this league price is redundant anyway.

I love bass guitar magazine and am an avid subsciber. However i feel that sometimes there is alot of Bias towards the Jazz genre, I fully understand the importance of Jazz when it comes to playing bass obviously, Jaco, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller. The list is endless! It would be nice to see a little more dedication to the other more popular genres such as, metal and rock. I know that they have feature articles etc but I mean just in general. some artists I would love to see an article on are: cliff burton, Glen Diani (One Minute Silence), Brett Makowski (36 Crazyfists), Tim Commerford (Audioslave&RAGTM) or Ben Kenney (Incubus&his own work)

Great magazine though!!!

I'd love to see a shoot-out style review of left-handed basses, particularly in the mid-range price bracket but also in the budget range for those lefties who are just starting out. I found it rather bewildering when I was looking for my first bass, I found loads of really nice instruments but they were almost all right handed (apart from the Warwick's obviously, which were very much outside of my price bracket).

Navigating the various manufacturers websites looking for sinistral gear isn't often easy as few even mention whether there's a left-handed version in the specs of a model (ESP and Epiphone come to mind). Admittedly, some (notably Dean and Tanglewood) have a seperate page devoted to their lefty ranges which is to my mind the way to do it. And yet others don't or have ceased production of left handed basses (BC Rich). So an article giving a full run down on what's out there for us lot would be great.

Anyway, I appear to have been ranting so I'll move on now
