Cool Jazz Bass

Hi guys,
i need your advice on getting a new jazz bass..being playing yamahas for a while which i love but just wondered if i`m missing something else out there, i never really liked fenders which is a bugger, anyway i need something with a fast neck and price of about £400.

You could try a fretless. Warwick do a rockbass (don't be fooled by the name) in a fretless which sounds good for jazzy material. Pity you don't like fenders though. I've got an '80s jazz special (P and J pickups) and it's my go to bass for jazz.

i did try the fender highway recently..which sounds lovely..im going to spend a couple of hours down the music shop and try out a fender 60`s jazz another highway and a standard jazz...and see if i was too hasty to dismiss them...thanks ill look at fretless at the same time.
